THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ELUSIVE JEWEL (T Gould) was stubborn loading. b) COSMIC EMPIRE (S Khathi) jumped inwards. c) MAKAHA BEACH (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start MAYA'S CAT (JP van der Merwe) was bumped by COSMIC EMPIRE (S Khathi), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) In the concluding stages SIBERIAN FOX (S Khumalo) shifted in sharply away from the crop and bumped ELUSIVE JEWEL (T Gould) at the finish. c) Jockey S Khathi reported that COSMIC EMPIRE choked up in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey K Minnie reported that RAGSAA changed stride continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the performance of SETTLE THE DUST (M Thackeray) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the performance of SINGLE FILE (K Matsunyane) (Betting 3/1 ; Distance 14.85 lengths) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. g) Trainer Z Oosthuizen was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he presented SIBERIAN FOX incorrectly shod in the parade ring.
