THE STARTER REPORTED: a) I'M A MAN (+P Mongqawa) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) GODFATHER (+B Cossa) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, Work Rider P Mongqawa became unbalanced after I'M A MAN jumped awkwardly inwards making contact with WILLIAMSON (+S B Mthembu). b) GREEN SCEPTRE (+S Mosia) and BROADWAY (+T Matsoele) over-raced in the early stages. c) Approaching the 800m, PRIYA'S TREASURE (+S Myendeki) took an awkward stride after attempting to jump a shadow which resulted in this filly losing ground to the field. Thereafter, Work Rider S Myendeki reported PRIYA'S TREASURE took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Work Rider S Mosia was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 in that he used his crop in a manner which was in contravention of the conditions of the Race, by striking GREEN SCEPTRE on two occasions with his crop, when his crop hand was off the reins. Work Rider S Mosia signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in three (3) Work Rider races. Suspension dates: 11 May 2023, 18 May 2023 and 30 May 2023. e) GREEN SCEPTRE (+S Mosia), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee S Mtwesi, acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry, was advised (LK). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) GODFATHER: Work Rider B Cossa weighed out at 60,5kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) PRIYA'S TREASURE lame right hind. Veterinary report required prior to racing. Rule 49.7 applies.
