THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KNOCKOUT (K de Melo) caught its right hind leg on the running board, was taken out, examined by the course veterinary surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay. b) FORTY HOT (K Steyn) jumped awkwardly, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. c) ONI SAN (A Andrews), GREEN VALKYRIE (G van Niekerk), TRES CHICK (JP van der Merwe) and LIP SYNC (D de Gouveia) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) KNOCKOUT (K de Melo) and GREEN VALKYRIE (G van Niekerk) raced green. b) In view of the Starter's report, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine KNOCKOUT (K de Melo). c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding KNOCKOUT (K de Melo), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 20/04/2023 to 26/04/2023 inclusive). KNOCKOUT may not be presented for re-passing during this period. d) OCTOBER MORN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer M Arnold, acting on behalf of Trainer C Bass-Robinson, was advised.
