THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ALADO'S PRIDE (S Khumalo) was nervous in the stalls. b) KING OF LUV (K Steyn) and TOZZETTI (X Ndlovu) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey X Ndlovu reported that TOZZETTI changed stride continually in the latter stages. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) In view of the performance of HONEST QUEST (R Fourie) (Betting 7/2; Distance 7.25 lengths) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) ELLIS ISLAND, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
