THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) TRANSACT (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls.
b) MOUNT PLEASANT (AUS) (JP van der Merwe) was stubborn loading, causing a delay.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) At the 300m WYAG (G van Niekerk) was steadied and lost position when tightened for galloping room between THE TINKERMAN (C Zackey) and NORTHERN SONG (O Noach), which shifted in slightly away from STREET OUTLAW (D Ashby), which shifted in when awkwardly placed on the inside of TCHAIKOVSKY (A Andrews). Thereafter, WYAG did not respond to Jockey G van Niekerk's urgings. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine WYAG.
b) Jockey R Fourie reported that TRANSACT made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding TRANSACT (R Fourie), Trainer ELP Steyn will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MOUNT PLEASANT (AUS) (JP van der Merwe), Trainer SJ Snaith will be advised to have this horse re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
e) WECANGOALLNIGHT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised. (EF)
