THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FULLIAUTOMATIX (J R Syster) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) RIO'S KISS (*P Mxoli) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, COSMIC STAR (G Lerena) was buffeted between FULLIAUTOMATIX (J R Syster), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, and RIO'S KISS (*P Mxoli), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) STORMY SEAS (M Yeni) jumped a patch at the 500m. c) GREAT TIMES (*D B Geerthsen) hung in from the 400m. d) Apprentice P Mxoli reported that RIO'S KISS did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) COVERT OPERATOR (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) WHAT A TIGER was ridden by Apprentice S Sosibo who weighed out at 51,4kg, claiming his 2,5kg apprentice allowance. Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse WHAT A TIGER, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer which necessitated a change of Rider. Jockey S Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1000 was imposed. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) RIO'S KISS examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) FULLIAUTOMATIX mouth injury. SCRATCHED: a) NETTLETON strained suspensory (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
