THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NTOMBENHLE (D Schwarz) lost 1 length. b) PRETTY ANALIA (S Veale) got its leg caught up in the starting stalls, was removed and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. As a result, LA PRESTISSIMO (*R A Venniker) had to be removed and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. Trainer P M Gadsby was advised to re-school PRETTY ANALIA (SL) THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) LA PRESTISSIMO (*R A Venniker) was hanging out from the 400m and shifted out between the 250m and the 150m. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with ILLUMINATED WAY and as a result eased her out of the race at the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Apprentice K J Lihaba completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. d) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning ILLUMINATED WAY (C Zackey), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for a period of 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. (Suspension dates : 01.05.2023 - 28.08.2023 bdi). Trainer D S Bosch was advised (MB). e) ZULULANGA (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C M Bestel advised (NS).
