HEART OF A LEGEND and IN THE STARS both lost 1 length. IN THE STARS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. IN THE STARS was cramped shortly after the start. ROCKING RUBY was hanging in throughout, tired and shifted in approaching the 50 metre mark resulting in DIECI being inconvenienced. Jockey Dillon, the rider of ROCKING RUBY, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take stronger measures to correct his mounts in future. TORBENITE shifted out away from the crop in the closing stages resulting in LA BELLA having to be checked off the heels of TORBENITE near the 50 metre mark. Apprentice Sakayi signed an admission of guilt for a contravention in that, as the rider of TORBENITE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to LA BELLA approaching the 50 metre mark. He was suspended for a period of 7 days. Jockey de Melo, the rider of SUNSHINE MINT, and Jockey Dillon, the rider of ROCKING RUBY, reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in the closing stages. In view of the performance of HEART OF A LEGEND, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. Vet: ROCKING RUBY - coughing. SUNSHINE MINT - not striding out left fore. IN THE STARS - speedy cut right hind. HEART OF A LEGEND - nothing obvious detected.
