THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CELTIC RUSH (*D B Geerthsen) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) TOTAL SURRENDER (C Zackey) and FUSHIMI INARI (D De Gouveia) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stipendiary Board called a race review into the start with regards to GREEN DYNAMITE in stall gate 5. It was established on reviewing the patrol films from the various angles that GREEN DYNAMITE, which had been restless in the stalls and reared as the start was effected, had been impeded by the Handler allocated to him when he attempted to settle this gelding as the start was effected. In terms of Rule 61.5.10.2, this gelding was declared a non-runner. b) In view of the performance of YOURE MY SUNSHINE (G Lerena), (distance 7,50 lengths, betting 15/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) SEVERIDE (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis (LK). Trainer R Klaasen will be questioned regarding the improved performance of SEVERIDE. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) ELASTIC MAN was ridden by Jockey D Schwarz (declared 6 May 2023 at 09H14), who weighed out at 56,5kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) SEVERIDE raced without blinkers (declared 7 May 2023 at 06H43). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) YOURE MY SUNSHINE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) GREEN DYNAMITE declared a non-runner in terms of Rule 61.5.10.2.
