THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MONSIEUR CHEVELLE (*P Mxoli) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 200m, STREET ART (D Schwarz), which hung out from the 300m, shifted out away from the crop. Simultaneously, JET DYNASTY (G Lerena) shifted inwards marginally away from the crop and was straightened. Thereafter, JET DYNASTY (G Lerena) was carried out marginally by STREET ART (D Schwarz), which continued to hang out and was corrected. An Objection was lodged by Jockey G Lerena, the rider of the 2nd placed horse, JET DYNASTY, against the winner, STREET ART (D Schwarz), on the grounds of interference and intimidation in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after viewing the Patrol films from all angles and giving due consideration to the evidence put forward by the connections, the distance of 2,75 lengths between the two horses involved and the proximity of the incident to the finish line, determined that JET DYNASTY would not have finished ahead of STREET ART had this incident not occurred and consequently overruled the Objection and allowed the Judges result to stand. Jockey G Lerena's deposit was refunded. b) STREET ART (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A P Peter advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
