THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, SAMUEL SALT (J R Syster) was restless and broke through the front of the stalls. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer C Binda is to be advised. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly before the finish line, THUNDERSTONE (M Yeni) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of SMITH AND WESSON (*P Mxoli) and MOVER AND SHAKER (*S Sosibo), which shifted in away from the crop. b) Jockey R Danielson reported that LUCY ENGLISH made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SAMUEL SALT, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 10 May 2023 to 16 May 2023. SAMUEL SALT may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer C Binda is to be advised. d) SMITH AND WESSON (*P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee C Jena, acting on behalf of Trainer P F Matchett, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) BOLD ACT was ridden by Jockey D De Gouveia (declared 9 May 2023 at 11H29).
