THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) HAPPY ANALIA (M Yeni) reared in the stalls.
b) SI VELOCE (*P Mxoli) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) At approximately the 200m, MICKE'S BOMB (M van Rensburg) was steadied when awkwardly placed between SIGNORA BOMBA (G Lerena) and HAPPY ANALIA (M Yeni), which rolled in. Jockey M Yeni appeared before the Board and was advised to take earlier corrective measures when straightening his horses, in future.
b) Leaving the 200m, CALA MURETTA (R Danielson), was bumped and had its hindquarters turned inwards by FRENCH DUCHESS (K Matsunyane), which shifted in away from the crop and was straightened. Thereafter, FRENCH DUCHESS (K Matsunyane), which continued to shift in away from the crop, was steadied momentarily to avoid the heels of CALA MURETTA (R Danielson), which shifted out away from the crop.
The Board, after reviewing this incident, was of the opinion that there were dual movements from CALA MURETTA (R Danielson) and FRENCH DUCHESS (K Matsunyane) and therefore deemed this to be a racing incident.
c) Jockey G Lerena reported that SIGNORA BOMBA changed stride continually in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d) CALA MURETTA (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
