THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAVE A PARTY (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LORNA LILLY (*P Mxoli) over-raced early and middle stages. Thereafter, at the 800m, Apprentice P Mxoli's colours cap and goggles came adrift in running. b) Jockey S Khumalo reported that GREENLIGHTRANGER did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) HAVE A PARTY (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C J Lensley advised (MS). When questioned regarding the improved performance of HAVE A PARTY, Trainer C J Lensley explained to the Board that, in his opinion, the addition of blinkers had accounted for this filly's improved run. He has undertaken to race the filly similarly equipped in future. d) GREENLIGHTRANGER (S Khumalo), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C J Lensley advised (DD).
