THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LITTLE MISS KJ (L Nhlapo) rushed the front gates in the starting stalls and thereafter jumped slow, losing one length. b) CELTIC VIXEN (C Maujean) and RAGSAA (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. c) AFRODITE (S Khathi) jumped slow, losing three lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Steady rain continued to fall between Races 1 and 2 and during the running of this race. b) The start of this race was delayed due to the thirty-minute interval between races. c) Jockey K Steyn reported that POWERS THAT BE changed stride continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey D Ashby reported that he felt something amiss with ANNA KARENINA and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding AFRODITE (S Khathi), Trainer AC Greeff will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) ILHA DA MAURICIA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel, acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford, was advised.
