THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LILLIANA (N Klink) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) MEMORIAL DAY (J R Syster) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, TRUMP MY QUEEN (*S Sosibo), which rolled in, was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE (D Schwarz). Thereafter, TRUMP MY QUEEN (*S Sosibo) hung out in the concluding stages. b) Apprentice D B Geerthsen was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking MIDNIGHT CRYSTAL more than twelve times in the entire race. Apprentice D B Geerthsen signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R2000 was imposed. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (13) and Apprentice D B Geerthsen's recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline. c) GREEK MISS (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee S J Coetzee, acting on behalf of Trainer W C Marwing, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE: Jockey D Schwarz weighed out at 55,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MEMORIAL DAY raced with a cornell collar (declared 14 August 2022). THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS.
