THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RISE (*R A Venniker) and SING FOR WINTER (A Mgudlwa) were stubborn to load. Trainers C Hewitson and G van Zyl (Jnr) were advised to re-school their respective runners (TM). b) TOP TEN (N Patel), MY CHERIE AMOUR (S Moodley) and SING FOR WINTER (A Mgudlwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) TWO MINDS (K de Melo) and EYE CATCHING (*M K Katjedi) over-raced in the early stages. b) Leaving the 300m, DEVILS AND DUST (M Yeni) and JUST VIRGINIA (J Gates) came together and brushed on two occasions. c) At the 250m, TWO MINDS (K de Melo) was carried inwards by AMERICAN STYLE (T Godden) which had come to the end of its run and commenced to give ground. Following this incident AMERICAN STYLE (T Godden) had to steady momentarily to avoid the heels of TWO MINDS (K de Melo) which commenced to hang outwards. d) At the 250m, RISE (*R A Venniker) and EYE CATCHING (*M K Katjedi) both of which had shifted ground, bumped, and approaching the 150m, RISE (*R A Venniker) had to steady to avoid the heels of BAY BREEZE (*S Hlengwa) which shifted out marginally. e) Jockey J Gates reported that JUST VIRGINIA changed strides in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) SING FOR WINTER (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) BAY BREEZE : Cut into left hind. b) JUST VIRGINIA : Nothing obvious detected.
