THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) MAGMALICIOUS (C Zackey) was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped awkwardly, losing two lengths.
b) SPEED RACER (K de Melo) and UNDERWORLD (R Fourie) were restless in the stalls.
c) DONNY TEE (O Noach) jumped outwards and made contact with TYRION LANNISTER (K Steyn).
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) The Stewards reviewed the start of this race with regards to MAGMALICIOUS (C Zackey) in stall gate 12 and were satisfied that this filly had not been impeded and any loss of ground was as a result of her own behaviour. No further action was taken.
b) SPEED RACER (K de Melo) was hanging out from the 300m.
c) RUNWAY BOMB (C Orffer) was hanging out in the latter stages.
d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MAGMALICIOUS (C Zackey), Trainer SJ Snaith will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
e) Trainer GS Kotzen was charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the local office of the National Horseracing Authority within two (2) business days that SWISS WALT had been gelded. Assistant Trainer T Woolard, acting on behalf of Trainer GS Kotzen, signed an Admission of Guilt and Trainer GS Kotzen was fined R 250,00.
f) UNDERWORLD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (SC)
