THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPARKLING JUBILEE (K de Melo) reared and rushed the front gates and was subsequently scratched by the Veterinary Surgeon. Trainer M F de Kock to be advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). b) DUENNA (D De Gouveia) was restless in the stalls. c) LAW OF SUCCESS (*P Mxoli) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 200m, DUENNA (D De Gouveia) was momentarily tightened for galloping room between INVENTRIX (G Lerena) and the outside running rail. Thereafter, DUENNA (D De Gouveia) commenced to hang in in the concluding stages. In view of the performance of DUENNA (D De Gouveia), (distance 8,00 lengths, betting 3/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) In view of the performance of SOMEDAY MAYBE (D Schwarz), (distance 19,00 lengths, betting 20/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey G Lerena reported that INVENTRIX made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) SIMPLY MAGIC (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer J Crawford, acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) PRIMROSE PATH was ridden by Jockey C Zackey (declared 18 May 2023 at 07H50).
