THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FEELING FOXY (L Nhlapo) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. b) RIDE THE LIGHTNING (M Yeni) was nervous in the stalls. c) MUR MUR (F Herholdt) and BOUQUET (K Steyn) jumped slow, losing one length. d) FLUID MOTION (JR Syster) and AIMEE'S IDOL (S Khathi) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 200m QUICK COUNT (R Fourie) was directed outwards away from MISS ROSE (D Schwarz), which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. b) YAYA MARIA (D Ashby) was hanging in in the straight. c) I LIKE IT HOT (M Thackeray) shifted out away from the crop and had to be straightened in the concluding stages. d) Jockey F Herholdt reported that MUR MUR changed stride continually in running, took no interest and trailed the field throughout. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with MISS ROSE. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) Jockey K Minnie reported that EMILY'S SPIRT changed stride continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. g) Jockey D Schwarz was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on MISS ROSE. Jockey D Schwarz signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00. h) I LIKE IT HOT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised.
