THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MOUNT ANDERSON (R Danielson) was stubborn loading and thereafter was slow into stride. b) TARANTINO (*P Mxoli) jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 300m SILVER FALCON (JP van der Merwe) and NAVAL SECRET (C Maujean) both became momentarily unbalanced when SILVER FALCON (JP van der Merwe) was directed inwards away from the heels of a tiring PRINCE VIHAAN (M Thackeray) and made contact with the hindquarters of NAVAL SECRET (C Maujean). Jockey JP van der Merwe (SILVER FALCON) appeared before the Board and was advised that, while the Stewards accepted that SILVER FALCON was improving quickly and had to be shifted inwards to avoid the heels of PRINCE VIHAAN (M Thackeray), he needs to take more care in similar circumstances. b) BUSH TRACKER (L Nhlapo) was hanging in in the straight and proved difficult to assist in the latter stages. c) In view of the performance of KHAYA'S HOPE (S Khumalo) (Betting 2/1 ; Distance 10.15 lengths), which raced prominently and did not respond to his rider's urgings, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey F Herholdt was charged with a contravention of Rule 21.13 in that he failed to fulfil his riding engagement on PRINCE VIHAAN. Jockey F Herholdt signed Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000,00 e) SILVER FALCON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee Z Xamle, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
