THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JAZZ DIVA (R Khathi) was restless in the stalls. Removed by the Veterinary Surgeon, examined, passed fit to race and reloaded. Stable employee C Storey acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel was advised to re-school this filly (TM). b) TIME TO THE MOON (M Yeni) and SHONA KIRSTY YVES (*R A Venniker) were stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 800m, GIMME A LULLABY (A Arries) and JAZZ DIVA (R Khathi) briefly raced in restricted room on the inside of SHONA KIRSTY YVES (*R A Venniker) which rolled in. As a result, TIME TO THE MOON (M Yeni) was steadied off the heels of GIMME A LULLABY (A Arries). b) Approaching the 100m, Jockey R Khathi (JAZZ DIVA) accidentally dropped his left side rein which he regained at the finish. c) HATTA (*S Hlengwa) was hanging out around the turn. In view of the performance of HATTA (*S Hlengwa) (7.75 lengths, 9/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) JAZZ DIVA (R Khathi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
