THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) GIVE US A SMILE (S Moodley) was stubborn to load.
b) VIBE SA (A Mgudlwa) and ATLANTIC EAGLE (B Jacobson) lost 1 length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) At the 800m, BEDTIME STORY (M Yeni) briefly raced in restricted room on the inside of STRAWBERRY STINGER (G Lerena) which rolled in. Jockey G Lerena appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to allow more room on his inside and to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in races in future.
b) At the 250m, BEDTIME STORY (M Yeni) was carried in by RAPIDASH (R Fourie) which shifted in away from the crop.
c) At the 150m, PETTEIA (S Veale) was brushed in by BEDTIME STORY (M Yeni) which was carried in by RAPIDASH (R Fourie) which rolled in.
d) Approaching the 100m, VIBE SA (A Mgudlwa) was switched out to continue its run, brushing GIVE US A SMILE (S Moodley) on a number of occasions.
e) Shortly before the finish RAPIDASH (R Fourie) shifted in away from the crop and was immediately straightened.
f) TAMIL TIGRESS (B Jacobson) raced green.
g) An Inquiry will be opened into the circumstances surrounding the timing of the delivery of the Passport of VIBE SA to the Stipendiary Board.
h) RAPIDASH (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J S Snaith advised (HM).
i) STRAWBERRY STINGER (G Lerena), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Rix advised (NS).
