PETER THE WAILER was slow, losing 1 length. EARTH STAR jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls. Apprentice Mxoli, the rider of MY SECRET, rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. At approximately the 1100m PETER THE WAILER was bumped inwards by EARTH STAR, which shifted both ways continuously. An Admission of Guilt was issued to Apprentice Zuma for contravening in that he, as the rider of EARTH STAR, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to PETER THE WAILER at approximately the 1100m.Jockey de Gouveia reported that KHEELAN DYNASTY took no interest in running. Jockey Penny reported that REGENT SEVEN changed strides continually in running. Jockey Munger reported that SAINT MARCO did not stride out freely in running. FLEUR DU CAP was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When afforded the opportunity to place on record any factors which may have accounted for the improvement of FLEUR DU CAP, Trainer Cason explained to the Board that this was this filly's first time racing equipped with blinkers, which he believed accounted for the improvement. Trainer Cason was advised to race FLEUR DU CAP similarly equipped in future. Vet: KHEELAN DYNASTY - not striding out right front. REGENT SEVEN - not striding out left front. SAINT MARCO - lame left front. TRAVELLER'S JOY - post-race distress.
