THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PASHTUNWALI (S Khathi) jumped slow, losing one length. b) HOMER FIDGET (D Ashby) and GREEN FALCON (S Khumalo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ALADO'S PRIDE (JP van der Merwe) was re-saddled at the start. b) INDY VIEW (L Mxothwa) and MATSUYAMO (K Minnie) bumped shortly after the start. c) STATE OF MIND (Y Ramzan) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. d) Jockey M Yeni (GRAND DESTINY) briefly dropped his right-side rein leaving the 400m. e) Leaving the 300m GUNSMOKE (M Thackeray) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between BOURNEMOUTH (R Fourie) and GRAND DESTINY (M Yeni). f) DALEEL (JR Syster) was continually held up for a clear run in the straight. g) In view of the performance of ALADO'S PRIDE (JP van der Merwe) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. h) BOURNEMOUTH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
