THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LUNA HALO (R Fourie) and MARSHMALLOW (D Ashby) were stubborn loading. b) GLOBAL RUSH (L Mxothwa) was stubborn loading and thereafter was slow into stride. c) SUCCESSFUL LADY (M Thackeray) was nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being slow into stride GLOBAL RUSH (L Mxothwa) was momentarily inconvenienced shortly after the start when close to the heels of JOY AND PEACE (*RA Venniker). b) JOY AND PEACE (*RA Venniker) and SUMMER ODYSSEY (S Khathi) were hanging in in the latter stages. c) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that GLOBAL RUSH, which was directed inwards at the 400m into clear running, felt uncomfortable in its action and did not respond to his urgings in the straight. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) LUNA HALO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
