THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIA'S HARPER (K de Melo) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Light rain fell prior to and during the running of this race. b) Prior to being saddled JET TO THE SUN (G van Niekerk) cast its right hind shoe, which the farrier was unable to replace. In consultation with Trainer SJ Snaith, the left hind shoe was removed and this filly raced unshod behind. c) Approaching the 100m KAMAKAZI (M Winnaar) was brushed by CALLMEGETRIX (A Domeyer), which was hanging out. d) Jockey G van Niekerk reported that he felt something amiss with JET TO THE SUN. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MIA'S HARPER (K de Melo) Trainer DM Kannemeyer will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) MONTELENA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PAW Botha was advised.
