THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RODRIGUEZ (*K J Lihaba) was slow into stride. b) ARDEN PARK (M V'Rensburg) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) RODRIGUEZ (*K J Lihaba) over-raced in the early stages without cover, and raced wide around the turn and into the straight. Thereafter this gelding was hanging in between the 400m and the 100m. b) Apprentice K J Lihaba (RODRIGUEZ) appeared before the Board, accompanied by Riding Master R Agrella, with regard to his riding in this race. Apprentice K J Lihaba explained to the Board that this gelding over-raced which resulted in him racing wider around the turn than intended. The Board accepted that he is still an Apprentice but advised him to take stronger measures to ensure that his mounts race more competitively and in closer proximity to the field in future. c) CORSICAN (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
