THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) KINGDOM OF GOLD (S Khumalo) was stubborn to load.
b) KEY ELEMENT (*R A Venniker), ORIENTAL BOUQUET (R Fourie) and SOLDIER'S EYE (W Marwing) lost 1 length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) ORIENTAL BOUQUET (R Fourie) jumped awkwardly as the start was effected and was then slow into stride and lost ground to the field. Consequently this filly raced at the rear of the field where it remained for the majority of the race and could not obtain a clear run behind horses for the final 250m.
b) Jockey van Niekerk (SECRET IDENTITY) appeared before the Board and was advised that the Stewards had reason to query his riding in the straight and that he had permitted his mount to shift ground and possibly be an influence on DOLCEZZA (C Maujean) with particular reference to the final 200m of the race. Jockey van Niekerk was advised that in the opinion of the Stewards, DOLCEZZA (C Maujean) had shown a tendency to hang inwards on its own accord in the early part of the straight, however, he is still obliged to ensure that he maintains a straight course and does not influence other horses.
c) DIVINE MOONLIGHT (K de Melo) was hanging in from the 300m.
d) TAMIL TIGRESS (G Pieterse) was hanging in, in the concluding stages.
e) At the 100m, PREDATOR'S FEAST (A Arries) was unbalanced when it clipped the heels of BOSNAY (L Mxothwa) which rolled inwards.
f) At the 100m, SOLDIER'S EYE (W Marwing) was unbalanced when it clipped the heels of AFRICAN FOLKLORE (R Khathi) which commenced to give ground.
g) SECRET IDINTITY (G van Niekerk), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Rix advised (HM).
h) DOLCEZZA (C Maujean), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Klaasen advised (DM).

b) Jockey K de Melo was the rider of DIVINE MOONLIGHT (advised 09.06.23/08h19).
