THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BROADWAY (C Maujean) and MOHAVE MAN (Wes Marwing) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BROADWAY (C Maujean) raced wide and without cover around the turn. b) At approximately the 250m, WILLIAMSON (M Yeni) was bumped by FELIDAVIAN (K Matsunyane), which hung in from the 400m. c) The saddle on DESERT FOX (S Khumalo) slipped back in running resulting in Jockey S Khumalo being unable to fully assist this gelding out to the end of the race. This was confirmed by the patrol footage. In view of the performance of DESERT FOX (S Khumalo), (distance 15,30 lengths, betting 7/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that WILLIAMSON did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Jockey D De Gouveia reported that JUSTCRUISINALONG did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) CELTIC RUSH (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen advised (MduP).
