STARTER REPORTED: a) LIZADO (*M K Katjedi) was slow losing two lengths. b) WHORLY WHORLY (M van Rensburg) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) A race review was called into the start with regards to MIX THE MAGIC (D Schwarz) in stall gate number 11, where it was established that this filly nudged the front gates as the start was effected. The Board, after reviewing the Patrol film from various angles, was satisfied that MIX THE MAGIC (D Schwarz) had gained no advantage and therefore took no further action. b) Shortly after the start, MIX THE MAGIC (D Schwarz) was bumped in by JUSRITE (*K A Brewer), which was squeezed out when awkwardly placed between MIX THE MAGIC (D Schwarz) and SILLY FELLA (*P Mxoli), which rolled in. c) Approaching the 300m, GHOST SHIP (C Zackey) was squeezed out between PHINDA MZALA (D De Gouveia) and SILLY FELLA (*P Mxoli), which was carried in marginally by WHORLY WHORLY (M van Rensburg). d) Shortly before the finish, SILLY FELLA (*P Mxoli) was steadied when awkwardly placed between WHORLY WHORLY (M van Rensburg) and FULLY LOADED (G Lerena), which was carried out marginally by DELLA'S SWORD (K Matsunyane), which rolled out and was immediately straightened. e) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with RAMCHANDANI ROAD in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Apprentice D B Geerthsen reported that WRITTEN IN STONE changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) Trainer B Webber was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate WRITTEN IN STONE against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer B Webber signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. h) LULU'S BOY (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J S Roux advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) GAL GADOT was ridden by Jockey M Yeni (declared 13 June 2023 at 09H03). b) PHINDA MZALA was ridden by Jockey D De Gouveia (declared 13 June 2023 at 10H02). Stipes permission as Jockey K de Melo experienced flight complications. c) WHORLY WHORLY was ridden by Jockey M van Rensburg (declared 13 June 2023 at 10H08). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) WHORLY WHORLY raced equipped with blinkers (declared 12 June 2023 at 07H54). b) JUSRITE raced equipped with blinkers (declared 13 June 2023 at 08H17). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) RAMCHANDANI ROAD examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) WRITTEN IN STONE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
