THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BALLROOM BLISS (G Lerena), ANGEL'S WISH (Wes Marwing) and HAVE A PARTY (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) WILD FOREVER (J P van der Merwe) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) PETUNIA (J Penny) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, HAVE A PARTY (M Yeni), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, had its hindquarters turned inwards when bumped on two occasions after being awkwardly placed between PACIFIC EXPRESS (J R Syster) and ALLTHEWAYFROMUSA (M Thackeray). As a result, Jockey M Yeni was dislodged from HAVE A PARTY. He was attended to by the course paramedics and transferred to the medical centre for further examination, which precluded him from weighing in. The Board, acting in terms of Rule 66.2, deemed his weight to be correct. Rule 25.12 applies. Jockey M Yeni is to be examined by the Course Medical Officer before his next riding engagement. b) PACIFIC EXPRESS (J R Syster) raced wide and without cover around the turn and into the straight. c) WILD FOREVER (J P van der Merwe) commenced to give ground to the field from the 600m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Approaching the 400m, ANGEL'S WISH (Wes Marwing), which hung in from the 500m, was momentarily inconvenienced on the inside of SUPER SECRET (*P Mxoli) and on the heels of the riderless horse, HAVE A PARTY. e) MISS CHRISTMAS (S Khumalo) was carried in marginally by A PLACE IN THE SUN (K de Melo), which commenced to hang in from the 300m. f) BALLROOM BLISS (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B D Botes advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) PACIFIC EXPRESS was ridden by Jockey J R Syster (declared 15 June 2023 at 16H04). b) A PLACE IN THE SUN: Jockey K de Melo weighed out at 55,4kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared. c) MISS CHRISTMAS: Jockey S Khumalo weighed out at 55,1kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared. d) BARMAID: Apprentice S Sosibo weighed out at 51,2kg, only claiming 1kg of his 2,5kg apprentice allowance. 1,5kg of overweight was declared. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) ALLTHEWAYFROMUSA raced equipped with blinkers (declared 12 June 2023 at 19H29). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) WILD FOREVER not striding out right hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
