THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) WITCHWOOD (S Veale) and PRINCESS ARLOWE (R Fourie) lost 1 length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) At the 250m MADAME POMPADOUR (C Habib) was switched out off the heels of ARVERNI PRINCESS (C Zackey) which shifted in away from the crop. Thereafter, approaching the 150m BABY LOVE (T Godden) was momentarily inconvenienced when racing in close proximity to the heels of ARVERNI PRINCESS (C Zackey) which rolled in. Jockey C Zackey appeared before the Board with regard to these incidents and was advised to take corrective measures to ensure that his mounts do not shift ground in races in future.
b) At the 150m MISS ARLBERG (*R A Venniker) was switched out off the heels of EQUILIBRIUM (A Mgudlwa). Thereafter MISS ARLBERG (*R A Venniker) and EQUILIBRIUM (A Mgudlwa) came together and brushed in the concluding stages.
c) TWINKLELITTLESTAR (B Jacobson), PRINCESS ARLOWE (R Fourie) and KNOCKOUT (J P v'd Merwe) raced green.
d) In view of the performance of CORAL COAST (S Khumalo) (24.80 lengths, 100/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with MAURITANIA in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) KNOCKOUT (J P v'd Merwe), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer J Newlands acting on behalf of Trainer J S Snaith advised (DZ).
