THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) During the loading process, PIED KINGFISHER (S Khumalo) reared in the stalls, was removed, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. Thereafter, this colt jumped inwards leaving the stalls. The starting stall certificate for this colt has been withdrawn.
Trainer M F de Kock to be advised.
b) KAMOKAMO (M Yeni) and LEAO ALADO (J R Syster) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to PIED KINGFISHER, this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion.
Suspension dates: 19 June 2023 to 25 June 2023. PIED KINGFISHER may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M F de Kock to be advised.
b) As the start was effected, COPPER JOHN (C Habib) was bumped in by TAXHAVEN (C Maujean), which was brushed in by PIED KINGFISHER (S Khumalo), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
c) FEEL ALL RIGHT (Wes Marwing) proved difficult to settle in the early stages.
d) GALLADORN (C Zackey) over-raced in the early stages.
e) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with GALLADORN in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
f) Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with KAMOKAMO in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
g) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with PIED KINGFISHER in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
h) THE FRONT LINE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
