THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) KING RAHUL (M Yeni) stumbled leaving the stalls.
b) CROWN PRINCE (B Nyawo) jumped inwards sharply leaving the stalls.
c) SOMEDAY MAYBE (D Schwarz) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
d) JACK FROST (J P van der Merwe) and TROMBETTISTA (J R Syster) were slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) As the start was effected, SOMEDAY MAYBE (D Schwarz) and BREATH OF MAGIC (C Zackey) came together and bumped when awkwardly placed between CROWN PRINCE (B Nyawo), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, and KING RAHUL (M Yeni), which stumbled outwards leaving the stalls.
b) TROMBETTISTA (J R Syster) hung out from the 350m.
c) In view of the performance of MAGIC PRINCE (K Matsunyane), (distance 9,00 lengths, betting 11/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d) Trainer S M Naidoo was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate TROMBETTISTA against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar.
Trainer S M Naidoo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.
e) KING RAHUL (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
Stable Employee F Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Spies, was advised (MduP).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) CARE TAKER was ridden by Jockey K de Melo (declared 27 June 2023 at 08H36).
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
