THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOLDEN TORRENT (R Danielson) and VIVACIOUS VICKY (D De Gouveia) reared in the stalls. b) CAPTAIN TIK TOK (*P Mxoli) and NEW MEXICO (J P van der Merwe) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) ANDI'S GIRL (G Lerena) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 200m, VIVACIOUS VICKY (D De Gouveia) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of ANDI'S GIRL (G Lerena), which hung in from the 400m, and was carried in marginally by CUE THE REBEL (S Khumalo), which rolled in while racing green. b) In view of the performance of COUNT YOUR CHANCES (C Habib), (distance 8,00 lengths, betting 6/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Trainer A P Peter was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate RAPTOR ISLAND against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer A P Peter signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. d) CAPTAIN TIK TOK (*P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett advised (MS).
