THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MISAVA (JP van der Merwe) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. b) LANDINGONTHEMOON (C Maujean) and JANNEMAN (G Pieterse) were stubborn loading. c) GAETANA (J Gates) and HOLLYWOOD STAR (L Mxothwa) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being loaded, the tongue tie on JANNEMAN (G Pieterse) became detached and had to be re-fitted by the veterinary surgeon, causing a delay. b) At the 200m MIRACULOUS MAN (D Schwarz), which was hanging in, was directed to the inside of MISAVA (JP van der Merwe) to continue its run. c) Jockey J Gates reported that GAETANA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) KIND OF BLUE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
