THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHELSEA BLUE (S Veale) broke through the front gates, was restrained by the rider and returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. b) CINNAMON BLUSH (A Mgudlwa), SHONA KIRSTY YVES (*R A Venniker) and MISS GIBSON (*M K Katjedi) were stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) CINNAMON BLUSH (A Mgudlwa) was hanging out from the 400m. b) The Board has adjourned to review Jockey S Moodley's (ASPOESTERTJIE) crop use in this race. c) In view of the performances of CHELSEA BLUE (S Veale) (20.70 lengths, 7/1 in the betting) and FLYING THE STAR (M Yeni) (11.75 lengths, 8/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Apprentice T Mayhew (PERFECT TRUST) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. e) Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate ALITTLEBITNAUGHTY against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. f) ASPOESTERTJIE (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Hewitson advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) MISS GIBSON raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 06.07.23/08h50). b) PERFECT TRUST raced without cheek pieces (advised 09.07.23/08h02). c) Apprentice T Mayhew (claiming 4kg) was the rider of PERFECT TRUST (advised 08.07.23/08h23).
