THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) RED MAHOGANY (K de Melo) stumbled shortly after the start. Thereafter SEATTLE BEAT (*M K Katjedi) and RED MAHOGANY (K de Melo) were squeezed out between ROY'S JULY MAGIC (*S Hlengwa) and FARLAND (D Daniels). b) TWOSIDESTOASTORY (W Marwing) over-raced in the early stages and thereafter raced wide around the turn from the 700m. c) At the 200m, a tiring TWOSIDESTOASTORY (W Marwing) which was hanging in from the 300m, was steadied off the heels of LORD EDWARD (*R A Venniker). d) LORD EDWARD (*R A Venniker) was hanging out on the latter part of the turn. Thereafter, Apprentice R A Venniker reported that this gelding took an awkward stride in the closing stages. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey W Marwing reported he felt something amiss with TWOSIDESTOASTORY in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the performances of RED MAHOGANY (K de Melo) (20.55 lengths, 16/1 in the betting) and SENOR GARCIA (R Fourie) (8.30 lengths, 5/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning TWOSIDESTOASTORY, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for a period of 60s days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Suspension dates (11.07.2023 - 08.09.2023 bdi).
