THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 200m, TIZONA (C Zackey) shifted in marginally away from the crop. In the concluding stages, TIZONA (C Zackey) was carried out marginally by WHISPERS OF WAR (AUS) (S Khumalo), which shifted out away from the crop. Thereafter these two horses, when racing in close proximity, came together and brushed. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into this incident, which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Jockey C Zackey, rider of the second-placed horse, TIZONA, against the winner, WHISPERS OF WAR (AUS) (S Khumalo), on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Board, after giving regard to the evidence presented by the relevant parties, as well as taking into consideration the minimal outward movement of WHISPERS OF WAR (AUS) (S Khumalo), the dual movement of both horses shortly before the finish line, and the fact that TIZONA had headed WHISPERS OF WAR (AUS) (S Khumalo) following this incident, was of the opinion that this incident had not affected the result of the race. The Board overruled the Objection and allowed the Judge's result to stand. Jockey C Zackey's deposit was refunded. b) Shortly before the finish line, CLIMATE CONTROL (J P van der Merwe) had to ease when racing in to restricted galloping room between BEY SUYAY (G Lerena) and AMERICAN BISCUIT (M Yeni). c) WHISPERS OF WAR (AUS) (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Spies advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) BEY SUYAY coughing post race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
