THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) OUTER DIMENSION (J P van der Merwe) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
b) DRUMSKITT (C Maujean) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c) HARTENBOS (J Greyling) and LADY LENNOX (*K A Brewer) were slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Shortly after the start, HEART PEAKS (M Yeni) and OUTER DIMENSION (J P van der Merwe) came together and bumped. Simultaneously, HARTENBOS (J Greyling) and LADY LENNOX (*K A Brewer) were squeezed out between DRUMSKITT (C Maujean), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and MOCHA MACAROON (M van Rensburg), which jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls.
b) BIRDCAGE WALK (D Schwarz) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
c) At approximately the 1000m, ELEMENTAL FORCE (*P Mxoli) was brushed out by VILLAGE GREEN (J R Syster), which rolled out and was corrected.
d) Approaching the 200m, LADY LENNOX (*K A Brewer) was checked to avoid running onto the heels of VILLAGE GREEN (J R Syster), which shifted in when insufficiently clear.
Jockey J R Syster was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of VILLAGE GREEN, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to LADY LENNOX (*K A Brewer) when he shifted in at approximately the 200m. Jockey J R Syster signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven (7) days.
Suspension dates: 2 August 2023 to 8 August 2023 (both days inclusive).
e) ELEMENTAL FORCE (*P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
