THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GLOBAL FORCE (S Naidoo) was stubborn loading. b) FAIRY KNIGHT (R Fourie), LORD MILORI (C Maujean) and ABOUND (M Yeni) kicked the back gates in their respective starting stalls. c) EMPIRE BLUE (K Minnie) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As a result of the incidents in the previous race, the Stewards had to wait for the horse ambulance to clear the track before allowing horses to leave the parade ring, causing a delay. b) S Khumalo (QUESTOR) dropped his crop at the 150m. c) Leaving the 600m a tiring WAZ WOUTER (Y Ramzan) had to be steadied momentarily when tightened for galloping room between FAIRY KNIGHT (R Fourie) and UNDERWORLD (G van Niekerk), which was hanging in and shifted in. d) An Inquiry will be held to establish why FAIRY KNIGHT (R Fourie), LORD MILORI (C Maujean) and GLOBAL BANKER (M Thackeray) suffered varying degrees of interference while racing on the inside of UNDERWORLD (G van Niekerk) leaving the 450m. e) QUESTOR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
