BALTIMORE JACK jumped slow. At the 500m, BERNIE was brushed outwards by POWER GRID which rolled out marginally. BALTIMORE JACK, which tired quickly in the latter stages, commenced to hang out and proved difficult to assist. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. CELTIC VOYAGER and POWER GRID were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BALTIMORE JACK - not striding out behind BERNIE - returned having lost its right hind shoe NATURALIST - abnormal respiratory noise.
