The start of this race was delayed due to the 12h00 start time coinciding with the conclusion of load-shedding and the return of the power thereafter. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAT SCORPIO (D De Gouveia), SILVER ALERT (M Thackeray) and MORNING CHESS (*T Mayhew) lost 1 length. b) SOPRANO (*R A Venniker) was slow, losing 4 lengths. Trainer M L Roberts was advised to re-school this filly (SN). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start LICENCE TO THRILL (T Godden) was bumped in by MORNING CHESS (*T Mayhew) which jumped inwards. b) At the 200m, HELSINKI (M Yeni) was momentarily inconvenienced on the inside of KAYGEE'S DELIGHT (C Maujean) which shifted in abruptly and was immediately corrected. c) Approaching the 150m SILVER SAVAGE (C F Dicken) ducked out sharply away from the crop. d) LICENCE TO THRILL (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M D Miller advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) LAST ONE STANDING raced equipped with a compression mask (advised 05.08.23/09h42). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) PIETER BOTH : Ownership should read :- Messrs A Espitalier Noel, C D Daby & Dharmendra Betchoo. Colours remain the same. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) RUN TO RIO : Returned post-race having cast the left front shoe. b) SILVER ALERT : Nasal discharge. c) TEATIME TIPPLE : Abnormal respiratory noise.
