The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race and due to the Starters' report below. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SIR CEDRIC (C F Dicken) and MAMBO'S CALL (D Schwarz) were restless in the stalls, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) THE GOLDEN GOAL (*R A Venniker) broke through the front gates, brought in hand, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and reloaded. c) SPORTY ROY (*S Hlengwa) and NORTHERN BLUE (C Zackey) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 250m KUMEMORI (A Mgudlwa) was brushed by ABERDEEN (M Yeni) which was hanging out from the 500m proving difficult to assist and rolled out. b) At the 200m KUMEMORI (A Mgudlwa) was brushed out by ABERDEEN (M Yeni) which rolled out. Thereafter, at the 150m KUMEMORI (A Mgudlwa) was carried out by ABERDEEN (M Yeni) which once again rolled out. c) Jockey D Schwarz reported that MAMBO'S CALL took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) ABERDEEN (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
