THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THE KOP (*D B Geerthsen) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) AFRICAN TORRENT (K Matsunyane) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, RIVER ROMEO (J R Syster) was bumped inwards by SUPREME DANCE (G Lerena), which was awkwardly placed between RIVER ROMEO (J R Syster) and THE KOP (*D B Geerthsen), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) Leaving the 200m, AFRICAN TORRENT (K Matsunyane) was directed inwards away from the heels of BOB'S YOUR UNCLE (*K A Brewer). c) In the concluding stages, RIVER ROMEO (J R Syster), BOB'S YOUR UNCLE (*K A Brewer) and TOP SAIL (P Mxoli), which raced in close quarters, were carried in marginally by SUPREME DANCE (G Lerena), which shifted in away from the crop and was corrected. This led to TOP SAIL (P Mxoli) being steadied away from the heels of TWIN TURBO (C Habib). As a consequence of this, Jockey P Mxoli (TOP SAIL) and Jockey K Matsunyane (AFRICAN TORRENT) were unable to fully assist their mounts out to the end of the race. d) IMPERIAL MASTER (*M K Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Titise, acting on behalf of Trainer S T Pettigrew, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
