a) OPENING CEREMONY (D Schwarz) and MAGENTA (C Maujean) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LAUNCH CODE dislodged Jockey S Khathi while proceeding to the start, was taken in hand, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. Thereafter, LAUNCH CODE (S Khathi) broke loose from the Handler, bolted the course and was subsequently withdrawn, causing a delay. Trainer K Mitchley was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended. b) FLAMING DRUM (C Zackey) over raced between the 1000m and the 600m. c) TWICE A SAINT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
