THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MY FLOWER FATE (C Orffer) jumped awkwardly with its head up, losing three lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 200m FLEETING (R Fourie) had to be steadied when close to the heels of TREASURE HUNT (K Steyn). b) In the concluding stages MY FLOWER FATE (C Orffer) rolled in and then had to be directed to the inside of ROYAL INVITATION (M Winnaar), which hung out in the latter stages and then rolled out. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MY FLOWER FATE (C Orffer), Trainer L Woodruff will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. d) Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of LADY SILVANO he misused his crop by striking LADY SILVANO more than twelve times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey L Mxothwa signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2000,00. e) Trainer L Woodruff was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that she failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/owners of the horse ISLAND TREASURE. Trainer C Bass-Robinson signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. f) VERONICA MARS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
