IN THE DANCE was slow into stride. Shortly after the start, VISTULA and PRETTY BORDER came together and bumped on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed between IN THE DANCE which rolled out and WISTERIA WALK which was carried in by RUNNING BRAVE who was hanging in throughout. In reviewing this incident, the Board was of the view that blame could not be apportioned to any individual rider and therefore deemed it to be a racing incident. In view of the performance of VISTULA, Trainer Matchett appeared before the Board and was advised to take all reasonable measures to ensure that this filly does not behave in a similar manner in future. Jockey Fayd'Herbe was issued with an Admission of Guilt for a contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, i n that he struck the horse ROY'S RIVIERA (AUS) more than twelve times in the entire race. RONNIE'S CANDY and IN THE DANCE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. WISTERIA WALK cast its left hind shoe in running. Vet: VISTULA - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. RUNNING BRAVE - post race distress. Scratched: MILL QUEEN - abnormal temperature.
