ALPHAMIKEFOXTROT, GRAVITATION, KINGSTON ROCK, JONATHAN and DUST STORM lost one length, respectively. At the 900m, ALPHAMIKEFOXTROT who had failed to muster sufficient speed to secure a position behind the leader, had to ease momentarily when awkwardly placed on the inside of DURAN which shifted in. At the 150m, GRAVITATION, who had come to the end of his run, had to ease when awkwardly placed on the inside of KINGSTON ROCK who shifted in to continue his run. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, whilst attempting to take a tight gap, KINGSTON ROCK had to ease when awkwardly placed on the inside of DURAN which rolled in, marginally. Apprentice Solomons appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and was advised to take more care when shifting ground in future. Additionally, Apprentice Solomons was advised that should there be a similar incident in future, more severe action may be taken. Apprentice Gumede, the rider of FIVES WILD, and Apprentice Gates, the rider of DUST STORM, reported that their respective mounts were not striding out freely in running. WASHINGTON SQUARE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. DURAN raced with alumites in front and steel shoes behind. Vet: DURAN - coughing. FIVES WILD - not striding out left hind. DUST STORM - not striding out right fore.
