THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the starting stalls MYSTIQUE ROUGE (C Maujean) was bumped by PRINCESS AZARIAH (S Khumalo) which jumped out. As a result, PRINCESS AZARIAH (S Khumalo) became unbalanced. b) MADAM SENATOR (R Khathi) hung out throughout. c) MOUNT ETNA (C Habib) raced wide around the turn from the 700m. d) PRINCESS AZARIAH (S Khumalo) and DOCTOR'S ORDERS (M Yeni) raced wide into the straight. e) Apprentice K J Lihaba reported that he felt something amiss with WHERE STARS SHINE in the concluding stages. In view of this the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning WHERE STARS SHINE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Stable employee V Ndlovu acting on behalf of Trainer P V Lafferty was advised (RS). (Suspension dates 31.08.2023 - 29.10.2023 bdi). g) DOCTOR'S ORDERS (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Badenhorst advised (NS).
